Tires on in the morning. Straight before you leave.

Bailey's Tire Service has been on St Charles Street for forty nine years, with its own Hunter alignment rack on the floor. Drive in, get in the queue, and talk to the man who is going to do the work.

The shop

A tire shop that owns its own alignment rack is not a tire shop.

Most places this size fit the tires and send you down the road to somebody else to have the car set straight. That second stop is where the new set quietly starts wearing on one shoulder, because nobody who fitted them ever saw the numbers.

Ours is a Hunter drive-on rack with a road force balancer standing next to it, in our own bay, on our own floor. The tires go on and the geometry gets checked in the same visit, by the same people, before you drive off St Charles Street.

We have been doing it here since 1977. No appointment book, no service advisor between you and the work. You come in, you get in the queue, and someone tells you straight what the car needs.

On the record

Forty nine years of the same address, the same trade and the same queue.

Everything below is checkable. The rating is live on our Google listing, the brands are on the wall in the showroom, and the year is the one the business was founded.

The Hunter drive-on alignment rack on the floor at Bailey's Tire Service in Houma

Since 1977

Forty nine years, one street, one queue.

The rack in this photograph is the whole argument. It sits in our bay, not in somebody else's shop across town, which is why a set fitted here can be set straight before you drive off.

What happens in the bay

Six jobs, and the equipment to do all six here.

Nothing on this list gets sublet. The rack, the balancer, the lift and the stock are all in the same building on St Charles Street.

One of the five words on the front of the building

Alignments

Walk the floor

One room, and everything in it is ours.

This is our own photograph of our own bay. Not a stock library, not a rendering of somebody else's workshop.

The showroom

You can put a hand on the tread before you buy it.

Highway patterns, all terrains and mud terrains stand on the floor and hang on the wall. Choosing a set off a screen is guesswork. Choosing one you have walked around is not.

What people say

4.3 out of 5, across 63 reviews.

We have not cherry picked a perfect score, because we do not have one. What we have is a lot of people who came back. These are their words, from our Google listing.

Call the shop
I was having trouble finding a set of staggered size tires for a 30+ year old vehicle. I'd been searching online without much luck. When I came into the shop they were able to help me find something affordable, without any hassle. The tires came in quickly from out of state and Bailey's had them installed before lunch.

  • These guys squeezed me in even as busy as they are, and were reasonable on pricing and care for your motor vehicle like as if it's their own personals. Great pricing great crew

Before you drive over

The questions we get asked at the counter.

No. The shop runs first come, first served, so you can drive in during opening hours and get in the queue. Calling ahead on (985) 876-5082 is still worth it for a set of tires, because it lets us check the sizes are on the shelf before you make the trip.

Yes. The alignment rack is our own equipment, on our own floor. It is a Hunter drive-on rack with a road force balancer beside it, which is why alignments is one of the four words painted across the front of the building.

Cooper, Mastercraft, Falken, Hercules, Delinte, Dick Cepek and Mickey Thompson are on the wall in the showroom. If the size you need is not on the shelf we order it in, and we have brought staggered and out of production sizes in from out of state before now.

Where the damage allows it, yes. Tire repair is its own job here, and it includes relearning the TPMS sensor afterwards so the light on your dash actually goes out.

We are an authorised MotoFab Lifts dealer, so levelling kits and wheel spacers are fitted here, along with the alignment afterwards that a lifted truck needs and often does not get.

We accept Synchrony Car Care. Ask us at the counter for the current terms before the work starts.

No. The shop is Monday to Thursday 7:30 to 4:30 and Friday 7:30 to 4:00, closed Saturday and Sunday. Some directory listings still carry old Saturday hours, and they are wrong.

Come see the rack. It is the whole argument.

Drive in during opening hours and get in the queue. If you would rather send it through first, the form takes a couple of lines and lands with the counter.
